Sitges continues to advocate public-private collaboration as a cornerstone for improvement, adapting to new trends, promotion and management of the destination for the Business Tourism sector.
In this regard, 2019 and 2020 are characterized as being years of renovations and re-openings in establishments specialized in business tourism, with a great effort from the private sector and the Sitges Town Council, which has increased its budget and its workforce and has renewed the Biosphere Destination sustainability seal that Sitges CB members adhere to.
The combination of knowledge, talent and public-private resources in the planning of the yearly Business Action Plans, the presentation of congress and convention bids, attention to requests, the organization and hosting of fam trips and press trips, as well as the creation of and attention to site inspection trips, make Sitges, year after year, meeting organizers’ favorite destination in Catalonia, immediately following Barcelona. This leading position is the result of the joint work that has been going on since 2004, the year the Sitges Convention Bureau was created, in response to the private sector’s needs and to be able to professionally and proactively attend the growing demand for information and services for MICE tourism in Sitges.

Dolce by Wyndham Sitges Barcelona 5* has been transformed and reopens in January 2020 with new restaurants, newly-designed rooms and suites, and new services and facilities.
Melia Sitges 4*S has also renovated its meeting rooms and coffee break areas. Other hotels that have been refurbished in 2019 are Hotel Ibersol Antemare 4* and Hotel Calipolis Sitges 4*. Furthermore, we cannot fail to mention Me Sitges Terramar 4*S, which opened its doors in January 2018, but has also improved its meeting facilities.
New Venues that are ready to welcome yours visitors are the CIM – (Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia) and La Sitgetana Craft Beer.
