2023 Sitges CB Assembly

The Sitges CB, the Sitges Town Council Tourism Department's program specializing in MICE sector, held its annual assembly at the Eurostars Sitges Hotel.

The Sitges Convention Bureau (Sitges CB), the Sitges Town Council Tourism Department’s program specializing in the congress and meetings sector, held its annual assembly on March 14th at the Eurostars Sitges Hotel.

The event provided an opportunity to present the most important actions planned for 2023 in terms of promoting the destination within the MICE segment to capture congresses, meetings, conventions and incentive trips.

The Sitges CB’s 2023 Action Plan includes more than 30 actions that include attending professional workshops and trade fairs, as well as fam trips to introduce the destination to event organizers. In the area of communication, new digital marketing campaigns will be implemented. The Assembly was attended by 51 participants.

The Assembly was also an opportunity to report on the actions carried out during 2022, where the main priority was to continue supporting members by recruiting professional meetings of the main workshops from the European MICE sector, like the British market’s All About People Forum, collaborating on fam-trips and press-trips  and offering economic and logistical support. Over the course of 2022, the destination received a total of 170 professionals.

It is also important to highlight the creation of best practices manuals and new web sections regarding actions related to sustainability and green events, or the  automotive and mobility guide, given that Sitges receives numerous presentations from this sector, as well as the guide to municipal sports facilities, which will be finalized this year. During the year 2022 the Sitges CB was present at 24 local market workshops, thereby strengthening the national and European market as well as more distant markets including the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. We have also continued to work on actions designed to share knowledge and have participated in several industry round tables. Likewise, Sitges was presented as a model MICE destination in training for Spanish Tourism Offices around the world and participated in work teams to develop projects with the Catalonia CB and the Spain CB.  We must also highlight the significant increase in the number of requests, almost double that of 2019 and with 45.42% of the international market, and the recruitment of congresses as a result of intense promotion during the years 2021 and 2022.

Improved communication through digital marketing, presence on social networks, new content and updates on the www.sitgescb.cat website, in addition to new promotional material, are some of the other communication actions implemented by the Sitges CB.
