Hotel Calipolis has renewed its Biosphere label, with which it has been certified for some time and which verifies the effort they have put into developing the best environmental, social, economic and cultural practices.

Some of the improvements they have implemented over the last year that have allowed them to renew their certification are:

  • The installation of solar panels to reduce energy consumption.
  • In addition to towel washing on guests’ request, they have incorporated the same service for sheets, in an attempt to reduce unnecessary water consumption.
  • They have also installed filtered water fountains in the Infinity Tapas Bar and in the Mirador restaurant, replacing plastic bottles with glass bottles to reduce plastic consumption.

These measures are in addition to those that have been implemented for some time and that you can see here.

Hotel Calipolis’ social responsibility is especially noteworthy, given that 50% of the profits generated by the establishment revert to the María Francisca de Roviralta Foundation, which dedicates the funds generated to charitable purposes in Spain and countries in need around the world.

Another not at all insignificant part of the profits goes to the Patricia and Carlos Muller Foundation, whose objective is to provide financial assistance to elderly people in precarious situations or in need, and to young people who do not have the resources for their training.

It also hires its laundry service from the Fundació Formació i Treball (Training and Employment Foundation), whose mission is to facilitate access to the labor market for people at risk of social exclusion, and has collaboration agreements in force with the Exit Foundation for the employment of young people at risk of social exclusion through the Coach Project, and with the Fundació Formació i Treball de Cáritas (Cáritas Training and Employment Foundation), for the employment of young people through internships in the establishment itself.
