Here you will find the implemented sustainable practices by Codorniu, associated through concrete actions with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals:

Equality policies

At Raventós Codorníu, we’re actively working to promote equality and diversity throughout our organisation. Currently, 33% of our management positions are held by women, and we’ve set the goal of increasing this figure to 50% by 2030.

We support specific initiatives by signing on to programmes such as “Empowering Women’s Talent”, which focuses on women’s leadership and development. Diversity and inclusion are guiding principles of our strategy as we seek to further establish ourselves as a leading company in this field.

Community engagement

We contribute to our surrounding community by fostering collaboration with local producers and creating value in the area where we’re present, especially through our wine tourism activities.

We also promote projects with a positive impact on our surrounding community and actively work with public and private institutions in the wine sector to drive regional development.

Committed to people

We care for the well-being of our team through specific programmes such as RC Care, which focuses on health and well-being at work.

We also support good causes through initiatives such as Giving Back Month, when we run food and toy drives in collaboration with organisations such as the Food Bank and the Red Cross, and we promote events that seek to do good in society.

Plastic reduction and eco-design

We’re constantly working to improve the design of our materials and reduce their environmental impact. We’re committed to the eco-design of packaging, eliminating unnecessary elements such as collars and optimising the use of materials, as well as using recycled cardboard with minimal printing.

Recycling and waste management

We manage our waste according to criteria of maximum efficiency and circularity, ensuring that more than GG% is recovered.

We reuse by-products from the winemaking process, such as pomace and lees, and we use recycled materials in our packaging, such as glass with a high percentage of recycled material and recycled cardboard boxes.

We also promote initiatives such as in-house composting.

Responsible water management

We have significantly reduced our water consumption, achieving a 24% reduction at our wineries in Spain.

We have a dedicated committee for efficient water management that also seeks to minimise the impact of our wastewater as much as possible.

Preservation and promotion of culture

We value our history and winemaking tradition, preserving a nearly 500-year legacy and keeping wine culture alive.

We’ve been recognised with honours such as the Company Committed to Culture seal, and we promote initiatives that combine tradition, history and wine tourism.

Buying local and eating healthy

We’re committed to local products, promoting the use of farm-to-table ingredients in our culinary creations.

We also encourage responsible consumption habits by developing products adapted to new trends, such as non-alcoholic or low-alcohol wines.

Other policies

We’re actively working to further the energy transition, using 100% renewable electricity and increasing our self-production capacity through solar energy.

We’re also embracing sustainable mobility, with the goal of having a predominantly electric or hybrid fleet in the coming years.
