The Sitges CB sponsors the EMA (Event Managers Association) “Consensum” program as part of the initiatives included in the “F5 Sitges- Refreshing MICE” project. Consensum is made up of 3 meetings where we will reflect, debate and reach a consensus on the MICE sector’s new business models, the first of which will kick off this month in Sitges.Sitges is a responsible, sustainable and technological MICE destination that is committed to events. We would like to generate knowledge, promoting conferences and meetings that allow us to rethink the future and establish a basis among the different players, in order to move forward much stronger, with more information and improving our quality as a destination.

The Sitges Convention Bureau is a GOLD sponsor of the EMA- Event Managers Association, a professional forum for dissemination, meetings and benchmarking that brings together 330 associated members who generate and organize corporate events. This positioning makes the EMA one of the main associations in Spain in representation, training and exchange of experiences for corporate event managers. The Gold sponsorship and the joint initiatives of the Sitges CB and the EMA respond to the strategic communications plan to further reinforce Sitges’ leadership as a destination for hosting corporate meetings.

On May 27th in Sitges, the EMA (Event Managers Association), in collaboration with the Sitges CB, is launching “Consensum I, Rethinking the Future”, the first of three work groups.  A pioneering project that seeks to redefine the future of the corporate events sector through the eyes of national strategic industry leaders. In an online webinar format, they will reflect on the changes taking place in society and how these changes will affect the economy and especially the MICE sector.

The work group, moderated by Pilar Jiménez and Rafael Grande, both from the EMA, will be composed of Maria de la O Martínez, Director of Product Innovation at Lefebvre – El Derecho, legal publishing house; Luciano Conde, CEO of Noventure, pharmaceutical sector; Ignacio Macaya, headhunter; and Javier Batanero, expert in digital transformation.

Coinciding with the presentation of Consensum, the EMAs Board of Directors, made up of event managers from Amadeus, BMW, Vodafone, Sage, Airbus, Ainia, the Spanish Society of Hematology, Mesoestetic and Farmainvest, will meet face-to-face in Sitges on May 28th and 29th, in collaboration with Meliá Sitges, Me Sitges Terramar and the Sitges Convention Bureau.

The second work group, “Consensum II: F5 Refreshing MICE”, will be held using a hybrid format on June 16th in Sitges as part of the National Edition of Iberian MICE Forums (IMF) , a corporate forum that will bring together more than 130 professionals from the Meetings & Events industry, including organizers and suppliers, in person at Finca Mas Solers.

The event will be rounded off with motivational sessions, one-to-one appointments, a gastronomic team building activity and an attractive social program at the destination, offered by the Sitges Convention Bureau and its associate members. The social program is one of the hallmarks of the MFIs that makes it possible to generate bonds and experience the destination.

With the staging of an electoral debate, lecterns and moderator included, key players from the MICE sector will debate with leaders from other sectors to redefine the future role of corporate event organizers and enhance their role within companies.
