Grup Matas Arnalot held its Open Day on May 17th, a day dedicated to event organizing agencies in Barcelona to present all the new features of their facilities, share networking and experiences and their new MICE products.
The Open Day started at the renovated Picnic Restaurant with a wholesome lunch based on organic products adapted to all dietary tendencies or restrictions. Afterwards, its wonderful views could be enjoyed, and the relaxation provided by Sitges’ blue was felt with a Mindfullness Yoga session. Both the Picnic and the Piquenique are versatile venues where their gastronomic and leisure options can easily be complemented, as they are fully convertible into meeting rooms and can be adapted to all company needs for cocktail parties, gala dinners with performances, etc.
The day continued discovering the Subur Marítim Hotel’s renovations and the possibilities that its rooms and gardens offer, with a musical Brunch accompanied by DJ Jaume Escolà. Then there was a tour of Masía Vilanoveta, which dates back to the 19th century. Thanks to the variety of its spaces, Masía Vilanoveta offers a different and fun way to hold banquets, activities, shows, contests, cocktails, etc. out in the open air, as well as all types of celebrations. The Wine & Art experience was held in the garden, an activity created and promoted by Fun-Acció Sitges, where an artistic creation was made using wine and other pigments. Afterwards, guests were able to experience the latest developments offered by Grup Matas Arnalot‘s catering, both in terms of furniture and new gastronomic creations
Today, this family group managed and led by its 3rd generation, is made up of two hotels, four restaurants and a catering company with a home delivery service: PicNic Restaurant, Sports Bar Sitges, Hotel Subur Marítim, Cau del Vinyet, Hotel Subur, Masía Vilanoveta and Matas Arnalot Catering.
The group’s history began back in 1908 when Miquel Matas i Jorba started working at the “Café Restaurant Suizo” in Barcelona’s Plaza Real. Since 1947, the company’s head office has been located in Sitges, when Mr. Miquel took over the management and ran the Hotel Terramar Palace, the most important hotel of the time.
