Spring has brought Sitges a huge celebration for the MICE sector thanks to the recognition of Maria Sánchez Quintana, Promotion Executive at Sitges CB, who won the Best Destination Promotion in the MPI Iberian Awards. This is an award for the work done over the past 20 years which has solidified Sitges as one of the leading MICE tourism destinations in Catalonia.

Yes, Sitges is considered a leading destination in this sector. For example, five medical conventions were held by domestic and international associations in April alone: the IAO Annual meeting – Association for Orthodontics, the Kidney Cancer Association, the SECMA-XXVI Congreso Cirugia de la mano, the Annual Meeting of the Asociación de Cardiología Clínic and the XXXI 24 Horas Neumológicas para la Atención Primaria.

We want to thank the entire sector for its support and trust, and we celebrate the fact that Sitges is the destination chosen for corporate meetings, incentives, congresses, conventions, launches and events. We keep going, we continue to provide advice and support and to be the contact point with professionals in the sector locally, and especially to reach out with our communication so that people all over the world are aware of Sitges.

We are currently organising the Catalunya Business Meetings 2024, which will be held in Sitges from June 3^rd to 5^th with the Hotel Calipolis as its headquarters, and with the support of the Convention Bureau and our partners. Yes, in Sitges we never stop!

MPI Iberian Awards

Maria Sánchez Quintana, Promotion Executive at Sitges CB, received the award for Best Destination Promotion. According to MPI, this award recognises work promoting a location as a MICE tourism destination, with a strong strategy that involves a creative and differential approach, passion and engagement, and that has a positive impact on the destination.

The award coincides with the 20^th anniversary of Sitges CB, a programme created by the Sitges municipal government’s Tourism Council, and rewards the work carried out to cement Sitges as a leading meeting and conference destination.

Catalunya Business Meetings – Sitges

From June 3^rd to 5^th, the Hotel Calipolis will be the headquarters of the Catalunya Business Meetings 2024 in Sitges, organised by the French agency Meet & Com in conjunction with the Catalunya Convention Bureau and the Sitges CB. Other participants in this edition are: Eurostars Sitges, Sabàtic Sitges Hotel, ME Sitges Terramar, Finca Mas Solers, Highfidelity Collective and Grup Matas Arnalot.

This is a workshop that will bring local professionals together with organisers of French events to foster new business opportunities. Over the course of the meetings, there will be personal B2B encounters to forge commercial ties, as well as a social and activity programme organised by the Sitges CB to learn about the destination first-hand.

62 professionals from the sector visit Sitges

In the month of May, Sitges has welcomed 62 professionals from the sector, both Spanish and international, invited by Grup Matas and Meliá Hotels, with the collaboration of the Sitges CB.

On May 2^nd, organised by Grup Matas and the Sitges CB, 30 event organisers from Barcelona were able to visit the restaurant Picnic ,  the Hotel Subur Marítim, the Masia Vilanoveta and the Restaurant Sofia by Pícnic, where they were also able to savour the group’s delicious food.

Likewise, on May 12^th we welcomed 32 travel agents specialising in the MICE tourism market from Asia, the USA and South America, invited by Meliá Hotels, before they attended the IMEX fair. They were able to discover the destination and visit the Meliá Sitges and the ME Sitges Terramar hotels.
