From March 6th to 8th Sitges hosted the annual meeting of the Iberian and France Benelux ICCA Chapters. The International Congress and Convention Association is the global meetings industry networks, a great opportunity to reinforce Sitges’ leadership as a MICE destination and to build contacts.
Sitges and the Sitges Convention Bureau associate members hosted the activities during the three days. The training sessions and their annual assembly were held at the Meliá Sitges and the Bodegas Torres cellar at the Penedès region, and the more than 100 attendees have enjoyed the gastronomy of the PicNic and Can Laury restaurants, the ME Sitges Terramar hotel and the Clos La Plana venue. Also during their stay and to discover the destination, Fun-Acció Sitges Events organised a solidarity gymkhana to collect food, which allowed them to visit the most emblematic places in Sitges, ending at CIM- Centre d’Interpretació de la Malvasia de Sitges, where they delivered 700€ to the Food Bank.
The event was an initiative of Barcelona CB and DIBA, with the support and coordination of Sitges CB and Catalunya CB.
ICCA is a professional global community and knowledge hub for the international association and governmental meetings industry, operating worldwide and divided into regional chapters. Its main purpose is to be the global international congress organisation community, enabling its members to gain and maintain a competitive edge within the industry. The association has almost 1,000 members in almost 90 countries around the world.
