The start of summer is a key frame that highlights the nonstop activity of the MICE industry in Sitges and the intense work of the Sitges Convention Bureau and its associate members.
One of Sitges CB’s strategic lines of action involves hosting professional events and using creativity, imagination, sustainability and the rationalisation of resources to promote and strengthen the destination’s appeal.
In June and the first half of July, we at Sitges CB and our partners carried out eleven initiatives representing the essence of our promotion strategy: we co-organized the Catalunya Business Meetings professional workshop here in Sitges (learn all about the event and check out the photos here); welcomed 57 “eventprofs” from different segments, who were able to experience the destination first-hand and meet some local suppliers in the sector; and attended international workshops to promote Sitges, such as the M&I Americas forum for the North and South American markets with Meliá Sitges and ME Sitges Terramar, and the Meet Catalunya workshop organised by Catalunya Convention Bureau, which brought together 75 professionals from all over Europe and beyond, with countries such as Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Chile represented. Also, we participated in the European market’s Meeting Space together with the Sunway Hotel, in the Global Mice Forum for the national association segment together with the Calipolis Hotel, in the Barcelona Event Day (BED) and in the Barcelona Convention Bureau’s workshop.
June is becoming one of the star months for destination gatherings in the corporate and association segments: conferences, events, incentives, etc.
That’s why this is a perfect snapshot of MICE activity in Sitges.
