The 55th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia took place on October and has gone down in history as one of its most successful editions, even more so than in pre-pandemic times. The 7th edition of Sitges Next will be held on November, a festival dedicated to promoting innovation in communication for brands, agencies, start-ups and technological creators.The 55th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia took place from October 6th to 16th and has gone down in history as one of its most successful editions, even more so than in pre-pandemic times. In numbers: 7 theaters with a total area of 3150 m2; 283 films; 10 international premieres; 40 female directors honoring the important history of fantastic genre films directed by women; more than 350 national and international guest artists presenting 26 of this year’s most eagerly awaited projects; 5 presentations; 20 workshops; 3 one to one meeting sessions; 5 exhibitions and an endless number of parallel activities.
Meliá Sitges, the central headquarters of the Festival has two projection rooms: the Auditorium, with capacity for 1,380 spectators, and the Tramuntana Room, where 400 journalists gather first thing in the morning to enjoy press screenings.The 7th edition of Sitges Next will be held on November 10th and 11th, a festival dedicated to promoting innovation in communication for brands, agencies, start-ups and technological creators. Two days to establish new connections, receive input and inspiration, with the objective of making an important contribution to the transformation of the way we communicate over the upcoming years. 40 speakers in twenty sessions consisting of colloquiums, debates and case studies and trends. is that it will be taking place at three emblematic venues in Sitges: The Mercat Vell (Old Market), the Maricel Palace and the Stämpfli Foundation, all located in Sitges’ historic center.
