Implemented sustainable practices by ME Sitges Terramar, associated through concrete actions with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Equality policies:

Ethics and human rights as a cornerstone, sustainable and egalitarian business management between men and women.

Community outreach actions:

Good relationship with neighbors, institutions, and organizations, thanks to various actions and providing spaces to develop the town’ s culture.

Social actions:

Numerous collaborations and participations: “Lluna Plena” (Full Moon) charity race: Collaboration with a donation of 280 € to SJD Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona, the team at ME Sitges ran the race; Delivery of solidarity glasses made by children from Vall d’Hebron Hospital (Aladina Foundation, Albert Bosch and Small) valued at 180 €; Santa Marta charity dinner (Ave Maria Foundation) held at Hotel Sunway.

Non-use/reduction of disposable plastics:

Elimination of single-use amenities replaced by 500ml amenities in all rooms. This affects bottles, glasses, bags, straws, and coasters, which have been replaced by biodegradable or environmentally friendly materials.

Recycling and waste:

Correct waste separation. Certificate of correct waste collection endorsed by Ferrovial.

Energy saving and efficiency:

Installation of low consumption led lights – BREEAM certification.

Responsible water use Management:

Installation of Osmosis system in kitchen, faucet filters for water filtration to reduce consumption – BREEAM Certification.

Infrastructure:

Installation of energy circuit for reuse.

Cultural preservation and promotion:

Services for customers who value Sitges’ historical heritage.

Consumption of goods from local producers, healthy foods:

Use of locally sourced km0 food products. Services for customers who are interested in local products such as Malvasia, Cala Morisca vermouth, Patates de Sitges, etc.

Mobility: electric car charging stations, bicycles, …

Electric charging stations in the hotel parking lot. Bicycle parking. We encourage the use of electronic transport methods through the SEAT MÓ platform.

Sustainable use of the ecosystem and marine resources:

Beach waste collection.

Other policies:

Generating prosperity and sustainable development in the area, with Meliá Hotels International globally being a consolidated model of Corporate Social Responsibility. STAY SAFE with MELIÁ program for clients and employees for Covid19 safety standards.

BREEAM, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), New Green Deal EU, SAVE Energy Efficiency Certification, Biosphere certification being processed.
