Some years have a special groove to them, like songs that make you turn up the volume, because you know something important is happening. That’s what 2025 was like in Sitges.

Some years have a special groove to them, like songs that make you turn up the volume, because you know something important is happening. That’s what 2025 was like in Sitges. As it celebrated the 20^thanniversary of the Sitges Convention Bureau, the destination cemented the progress made in 2024 and bolstered a growing MICE model that is backed up by increasing visibility and experience, strengthening the destination’s projection within the meetings and events industry

The data come from two surveys of Sitges Convention Bureau members, one for each half of 2025, and were compared with the results of the 2024 survey to provide context for the sector’s growth.

Following extraordinary growth in 2024, 2025 confirmed the sector’s growth, with the MICE segment accounting for a larger percentage of turnover, attracting a more diversified clientele and achieving an increasingly strong international projection.

Sitges CB assembly

In April, the annual Sitges CB assembly once again brought together sector stakeholders to take stock and share projects and new opportunities. The meeting was an opportunity to share the activities carried out, present the areas of work for 2026 and strengthen the collective perspective for a destination that is continuing to make strong strides within the events industry.

Sitges CB brings Sant Jordi to Madrid

This year we celebrated Sant Jordi as part of EMA Learn in Madrid, introducing the events sector to one of our most iconic traditions. The initiative brought together tradition, knowledge and emotion all in one event.

At Sitges CB, we wanted to share this spirit with the EMA community, handing out 70 roses to participants as a symbol of culture, connection and events with emotion. The session, “Socorro: vivo en modo evento” , was led by executive coach Silvia Escribano with the participation of EMA president Maria Gómez Sáenz, and included a round-table discussion with Ana María Perea and Fernanda Hawkes, who shared their experiences and lessons learned with the participating professionals.

The meeting concluded with an analysis of the event itself by Edgar Sanjuán (Emogg), focusing on emotions and how to continue improving the experience at future events.

Meliá Sitges has completed the first phase of its hotel renovation with a restyling of its standard rooms and iconic spaces like the lounge, atrium and Gastrobar Safrón. It is unveiling a new look with more light, comfort and contemporary design, aiming to enhance its MICE appeal.

ME Sitges Terramar is activating the MICE summer by reopening two seaside spaces: BESO Beach Club, ideal for groups up of to 70 people, and Rooftop Radio, which can hold up to 120. Great food, networking and Mediterranean lifestyle for events with personality.

Hotel Calipolis has renovated its ground floor with a more functional, accessible and efficient look. Its reception is unveiling a new look, and the Arcos and Sert rooms have been refloored and equipped with new technologies. These updates aim to improve the experience of both organisers and participants and reinforce the hotel’s commitment to sustainability.

Sunway Sitges adds new technology to its meeting rooms to offer more comfortable, efficient and personalised experiences. Using smart tablets, clients can manage lighting, air-conditioning and audiovisuals to adapt each space to each event.

Codorníu launches ‘The Memory of the Bubble’, a guided tour that shares unusual spaces like the Jaume winery, where the first cava (sparkling wine) was born in 1872, along with a tasting of Non Plus Ultra and a tour on a mini-train through the 30 km of impressive underground galleries. A MICE experience with history, heritage and wine tourism.

OK Team has been designing creative, memorable team-building experiences since 2006. Now, with the fine weather here, it is premièring new activities and team-building experiences to connect teams and discover the destination, including regattas, urban gymkhanas and food-centred, cultural and outdoor activities to create memorable moments.

Blai Limousines, a pioneer in comprehensive chauffeur transport management in Spain, has more than 50 years of experience serving events and companies. It expanded in 2026 with twelve Tesla Model 3’s and upgraded eight Mercedes Class E’s to enhance its premium fleet, which is managed with advanced technology and an expert human team.
