The Sitges Convention Bureau participated in the Catalunya Ambassadors Program’s “MeetAmbassadors” event, held at the Waltraud Winery, the new Familia Torres Visitor Center in Pacs del Penedès.
The event, which was attended by more than 50 people, also presented potential Ambassadors who can help contribute to creating and attracting congresses and business events in Catalonia.
Under the slogan “Strengths, Legacy and Alliances”, this is the second edition of a meeting organized by the CCB that aims to create synergies and opportunities for collaboration between the professional members of the Catalonia Convention Bureau’s Catalonia Ambassadors Program.
During its presentation, the Sitges CB summarized its strengths, its legacy and its alliances as follows:
Strengths: Accessible destination; its urban planning, offering the possibility of getting around on foot with no need to use public transport; its DNA and its uniqueness; its infrastructures, offering 4000 beds in top-quality hotels with meeting rooms for up to 900 people, 2 convention centers for 1400 and 500 pax and unique venues, all of them adapted for face-to-face and hybrid meetings, and with seals of sustainability; its experience: Sitges is Catalonia’s number two destination for hosting business tourism; and its treasures: its microclimate, its cultural wealth, its gastronomy and its recreational and sports facilities.
Sitges’ legacy: In Sitges we are consciously sustainable and work to improve, while at the same time, satisfying and maintaining a balance between tourists and residents; in Sitges we create Community; we are custodians of culture and tradition; Sitges is committed to innovation and generating information, such as the Sitges CB’s program “F5Sitges Refreshing MICE”.
Highlighted as alliances were: the local companies, the EMA-Event Managers Association, the EMI – Event Management Institute, ICCA, on a territorial level with the Catalonia, Barcelona and Spain Convention Bureaus and other industry associations such as the Travel Advisors Guild and Idemice.
The Minister of Business and Labor, Roger Torrent Ramió, presided over the ceremony in acknowledgement of the program’s representatives. The event also included a welcome and the participation of the Director General of Tourism, Marta Domènech Tomàs, and the Director of the Catalan Tourism Agency, Narcís Ferrer.
Familia Torres offers unique venues for all types of events: the Alfonso XIII Hall, a living history of the family, with a capacity for 480 people; the Waltraud Winery, with its modern and sustainable architecture, where the conference was organized; the El Celleret Garden Restaurant with a splendid 1000m2 garden surrounded by vineyards; and Mas Rabell, a rustic farmhouse and clear advocate of local cuisine and sustainability, which follows the line of Familia Torres’s proposals. All these spaces are located in the Penedès area, in an incomparable setting, ideal for any type of celebration.
